I was hired during the selection process, but they said it would take a month to start. (And it was for the HR area!) After that month, I found it very strange not to receive anything by email, so I called to ask, and they replied that the process was still open and they hadn't selected anyone. There were 3 employees at the time, one was the benefits manager and the recruiter. It's fine if they found a better candidate, but is it too much to notify politely? They should have informed me somehow, I found it disrespectful and negligent.
