Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mercurys Coffee.
Barista
The interview was easy, they just ask about your experience and availability, and why you're interested in working there. If you have any barista experience it's likely you will be hired then and there.
- Why do you want to work at Mercurys?
- What is your prior experience as a barista?
- What is your availability?
Barista
The first interview was a group interview, which they didn't mention beforehand. I only found out when I got there, which was annoying. Then I got a call back for a second interview. When I showed up for that one, nobody was there. After I messaged them that I was waiting outside, the person said we'd reschedule, but then they never replied to my emails or calls. It was super frustrating, especially since during the interview they bragged about how great their coffee company was and how they expect everyone to be punctual and manage their time well. It seems like they don't follow their own rules and have a lot of people quitting. Be careful with this company.
- Why do you want to work for us?
- Do you plan on taking any time off within the next six months?
- What are your career goals for the next year?
Barista
The interview process was very quick and comfortable. The interviewer was very kind and approachable, answering all my questions promptly and in a down-to-earth way. Based on this one interviewer, I got a good impression of the working environment.
- What motivated you to apply for this position?
- Can you share some of your previous experiences working with colleagues or customers?
