First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mercurys Coffee.
Barista
The interview was easy, they just ask about your experience and availability, and why you're interested in working there. If you have any barista experience it's likely you will be hired then and there.
- Why do you want to work at Mercurys?
- What is your prior experience as a barista?
- What is your availability?
Cashier Barista
i had a one-on-one interview in person at their headquarters. they gave me the job right away and asked about my availability. the people were nice and friendly. they also told me about the training, which is two days at headquarters before they send you to your assigned location.
- What do you think is a key part of customer service
- What's something you learned from a previous job
Store Manager
They first emailed me some questions about why I want to work there, my salary expectations, and my experience. Then they had me come in for an in-person interview at their HQ in Bellevue.
- Can you share an instance where a supervisor provided you with feedback? What was the feedback and how did you respond to it?
Barista
The first interview was a group interview, which they didn't mention beforehand. I only found out when I got there, which was annoying. Then I got a call back for a second interview. When I showed up for that one, nobody was there. After I messaged them that I was waiting outside, the person said we'd reschedule, but then they never replied to my emails or calls. It was super frustrating, especially since during the interview they bragged about how great their coffee company was and how they expect everyone to be punctual and manage their time well. It seems like they don't follow their own rules and have a lot of people quitting. Be careful with this company.
- Why do you want to work for us?
- Do you plan on taking any time off within the next six months?
- What are your career goals for the next year?
