I went through a few rounds of interviews. First, there was a quiz to check my basic skills, like logical reasoning and English comprehension, to see if I was a good fit. Then, I had to do a more hands-on assessment where I had to look at AI video outputs, check for visual issues, and make sure they followed regulations, giving feedback. The last step was an AI bot interview, and after that, it was just waiting to hear back.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • For an AI assessment, I was given a video and asked to describe it, considering aspects like lighting, framing, subjects, objects, how it changes, and anything unusual I noticed.
  • I was also shown several similar images and asked to spot the differences, to test my visual skills and ability to find artifacts quickly.
  • The AI interview asked about my past experience, why I'd be a good candidate, and my general views on AI.

Passing the bootcamp is key, though it doesn't guarantee a project, as projects are based on client demand. However, doing well in the bootcamp/interview really bumps up your chances of getting staffed. If you're selected, Mercor (or the client) usually sets up a live interview. This is typically a 30–45 minute video chat where they’ll ask about your background, how you work in a team, and your communication skills. There's also a technical/domain part where you might tackle short reasoning problems, look at case studies, or critique something. Sometimes, you'll even do a live case study, evaluating or building something right then and there.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Could you share some details about your background and its relevance to this position?
  • Describe the type of work setting where you're most productive.
