First, I had a HireVue, which asked typical questions like 'why Mercer' and 'tell me about a time'. After that, I had three interviews back to back, all of which were behavioral. They were very friendly and conversational. They asked about my experiences and left time for my questions.

The interview process with Mercer was a really good one. There were actually quite a few interviews, about 5 if you include the initial recruiter screening, but it felt like they genuinely wanted to get to know me and my capabilities instead of just grilling me. I felt a good connection with everyone I spoke with and genuinely enjoyed getting to know them. I submitted my application in mid-January, and a couple of weeks later, I had my screening followed by the main interviews. I received an offer in mid-March, which was about 1.5 to 2 weeks after my final interview.

I applied online and then got a surprise call from a team member asking if I could do a phone interview right then. Red flag, but I did it. A month later, I got another call from the same person inviting me for a 3-hour panel interview with an Excel test. Most of the team was cool, but the last two senior associates were rude and made inappropriate comments about politics, race, and social issues, calling younger people "snowflakes". It made me very uncomfortable, so I'm glad I didn't take the job.
