Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mercer.
Investment Analyst
Started with a phone call with HR, then a phone call with the hiring manager, and finally an in-person final round with another manager and the head. The HR person was really helpful throughout the whole process.
- Can you tell me about your past experiences?
- What do you see as the pros and cons?
- Walk me through a time you took the lead on a project.
Investment Analyst
This interview experience with Mercer felt like they weren't very interested in me. The whole conversation gave me the impression that they don't really value their employees and seem to have a very closed-off team culture. I've seen other reviews saying you need a personal connection to get an offer or promotion there, which makes it seem tough to get a foot in the door if you don't know someone.
- What makes you the right candidate for this position?
Investment Analyst
It was a pretty standard interview process, nothing out of the ordinary. The whole thing lasted about two hours, and all the questions they asked were directly related to my resume and past work experience.
- Could you discuss the advantages and disadvantages of passive versus active fund management?
