First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mercer.
Actuarial Analyst
I was contacted through LinkedIn, not by applying directly. The first scheduled interview was missed by the interviewer, and they only responded after 5 days. The second interview went fine. They said they would provide feedback on the salary range and send further recruitment tests, but I never received any feedback. The process seemed very disorganized.
- What do you expect regarding salary?
- Could you walk me through your CV?
Actuary
There were 5 interview rounds in total. The interviews were conducted by the team manager, a senior specialist, the head of the department, the CEO, and then teammates. The people involved were very professional and friendly. It seems like a great place to work based on the interview experience.
- Technical questions were asked.
- Behavioral questions were asked.
Actuary
Scheduling was a bit of a mess; they booked an interview, then seemed to forget about it and had to reschedule. The actual interview lasted an hour. The first half-hour was with two people, and then another two people joined, although it felt like they might have been interviewing for a different role. It didn't really feel like a proper interview, and honestly, the lack of any feedback or even a rejection email afterwards was pretty disappointing, especially given it's a big company.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What led you to pursue a career as an actuary?
