Initial contact was via email, leading to an in-person meeting. The interview itself was respectful but lacked transparency. Additional tasks were presented that weren't in the job description, which I suspect was an attempt by the manager to deter me; the approach was quite questionable. I'm German with a migration background. It was mentioned that two more interviews were planned, which strikes me as odd compared to other companies. They said they'd get back to me, but after 4 weeks, I decided otherwise because I hadn't heard back from the manager. At Daimler in Stuttgart (Möhringen), there are posters at the gate saying "Respect! No place for racism!". I haven't seen that anywhere else. Does Daimler have a racism problem? The interviewer immediately started talking about Daimler AG's intercultural engagement. To all Daimler employees, you don't need to walk around with a sign saying "I'm open-minded and not a racist". In my opinion, Daimler needs to hire more people with migration backgrounds in leadership roles.

First, an online pre-selection, then, after a long wait, a two-day assessment center: PC tests (intelligence, logical thinking, compliance), group work, discussion in English, case studies, individual interviews with the department head and HR. After the first day, half of the applicants were invited to the second day, after the second day there was feedback from HR, on the following day the offer came by phone.

Daimler Trucks & Buses doesn't seem to be looking for the leaders of tomorrow who embody the Leadership 2020 principles, aim to change the company culture, and drive the overall transformation, despite what's communicated on their website. Daimler Trucks & Buses is apparently branding the program unrealistically to offer short-term contracts. It's more suitable for bachelor's or master's graduates looking to gain initial work experience, rather than for graduates who were convinced by the homepage.
