Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mercedes-Benz Group.
Manager
My initial meeting was with the General Manager. It was a firm handshake, as is typical in Calgary. He seemed like he’s been here for a long time, probably 15 years. He got straight to the point, skipping the usual small talk about the weather, and wanted to assess my capability to handle the back end.
- What makes you the ideal candidate for this role?
Assistant Manager
First, there was an online interview with someone from the department to check your background and experience. Then, a physical interview with the Head of the Department and a manager to understand your strengths and how your skills can fit into the team. Finally, an online interview with HR to go over the benefits and what matters to you.
- How would you handle and cope with a situation like scenario A?
Deputy Manager
The interview process started with a recruiter call, then moved to a phone screen. They asked a series of questions to get to know me better and understand my background and fit for the role.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What makes you want to work for our company?
- What about this specific role appeals to you?
