Great experience. Smooth Process. Straight-forward interview. Questions regarding past sales experience and behavioral scenarios. Five rounds of interviews. Discussed product knowledge. Staff and managers were very friendly. Very professional. State of the art facility.

So, first there was this phone call to give me a general idea about the department and what I'd be doing. After that, I sent in my CV. Even though they looked at my application, I had to re-apply through their online system, and guess what? You need a killer motivation letter for that part! The next thing was getting an interview invite. For this, I had to prep a short case study and a presentation. Quick tip: really think about that case! Mine was set in India, so I had to present in English, even though I applied in Germany. It ended up being a phone interview for me because I was abroad, but they were super flexible about it.

I'm really disappointed with how I was treated as a candidate for Parts Advisor at Mercedes-Benz of Winnipeg. HR called me in mid-October to ask about my salary expectations. I told them I wouldn't accept less than $85,000 annually because I'm a Red Seal Endorsed Part Technician with 12 years of experience. They interviewed me three times over five weeks, and it felt like they kept asking the same questions. A week after the last interview, they offered me $65,000, which is unacceptable since I'd already stated my minimum requirement. When I called for an explanation, I was told the hiring manager would have to speak with the GM as it was beyond his authority. I never heard back, and they ignored my emails and voicemails until they finally sent an email rescinding the offer due to a mismatch in remuneration. The initial call should have been the end of it; they wasted my time and money traveling there every 10 days when I could have been applying elsewhere. When I first visited the dealership, I spoke with a customer who mentioned that no one ever answers the phone or returns messages in parts. I also learned during my second interview that the parts department's productivity and leadership are lacking, which I suspect is partly due to having an Autobody Technician as the Parts Manager.
