First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mercadona.
Warehouse Associate
First, there's a group interview to see how you communicate. Then, in a personal interview, they ask more questions about you, your life, and your previous jobs.
- What is your education background?
- Where do you live?
- What were your previous jobs?
Warehouse Worker
First, they'll tell you about the company and the job, then you'll do a group activity. In the activity, you'll be given a situation where a plane crashes and you have to say what 5 things you'd rescue to survive. You'll give your personal opinion first, and then discuss it with your colleagues. If you pass this stage, you'll get a call for an individual interview.
- Imagine you're on a plane that made an emergency landing in the Sonora desert. You're the only survivors, as the pilots perished in the fire. You're in a barren area, 130 km southwest of a mining camp, the closest settlement, and 120 km off your flight path. The temperature is 40 degrees Celsius. You're wearing light clothes and have scarves; collectively you have about 2 euros in coins and 40 euros in bills; a pack of cigarettes, and a pen. Before the plane caught fire, you managed to save: a flashlight, a small mirror, a 2-liter bottle of vodka, a compass, a coat for each person, a pair of sunglasses for each person, a pack of gauze, a jar of salt tablets, 1 liter of water per person, a utility knife, an aerial map of the region, a raincoat, a .45 caliber pistol, a red and white parachute, and a book titled “Edible Desert Animals”. All items are intact, and the group has agreed to stick together. What five items would you rescue for survival?
- What is your personal opinion on the items to survive?
- Discuss with your colleagues about the survival items.
Almacenista
I felt really good about being part of that great work team. I trained for the job and discovered it was a career where I could retire. I felt very comfortable.
- What is your current employment situation?
- Tell me about your studies.
- Can you describe your previous work experiences?
