Behavioral Other

This was one of the worst interviews I've ever had. They don't insult you directly, but they greet you with a smile and then ask questions that make no sense. They use passive-aggressive interview techniques to see how you react, if you get angry or not. Most of the questions were about my personal life: my parents' and sister's jobs, why my sister isn't independent yet, if I have a partner and what they do. It feels like they're trying to recruit for NASA instead of a supermarket, they're like a cult. They asked if my parents were paying for my degree, and when I said yes and that I was grateful, they stared at me and in a cold, aggressive tone asked, 'Then why do you want to work?'. That's what I mean by passive-aggressive questions; maybe it doesn't seem like much in writing, but the tone is everything.

I sent my application online and a few days later, they called me for an in-person interview. The first interview was a group activity where being participatory is notable. The next one was individual, with questions about my availability, previous customer service experience, and teamwork. The atmosphere was quite cordial and professional. They explained the contract type and the job duties. At the end of the interview, they told me they would call me if I was selected.

First, there's a group interview. You introduce yourself to everyone and then are given a challenge where you have to choose something and explain why. After making your personal choice, you need to reach a group agreement. If you pass the group interview, you'll be called for a personal interview to discuss your academic and professional experience further.

  • Tell me about your academic background.
  • What companies have you worked at before?
  • What are some personal qualities you appreciate about yourself?
