Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mental Health Cooperative.
Case Manager
The interview was pretty straightforward. I got to shadow a care manager and even went on a ride-along to a consumer's home to see what a visit actually looks like. They also gave me a tour of the office and introduced me to some of the team.
- What qualities would make me a strong candidate for this role?
Case Manager
I talked to the case management supervisor about my qualifications and the job. We discussed whether I'd rather work with kids or adults and my thoughts on boundaries with clients. They also mentioned their progressive views on medication and other things, which I'm okay with. It was a good interview overall. For the second round, I did an in-person interview where I went on a ride-along with a case manager.
- Can you share any work experience you have outside of professional settings?
Case Manager
I had two interviews. The first one was with two HR people. They asked me about my past experiences with kids and in social work. They also asked why I wanted to work there and what I knew about the company, and my research helped. The second interview was with my potential supervisor, which was pretty quick. Afterwards, she gave me a brief tour. I think the second interview was mostly a formality since I felt I already had the job.
- Tell me about your previous experience working with children.
- Can you describe your background in social work?
- What motivates your interest in joining our organization?
