Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mendix.
Software Engineer
First there was an intake with HR, mostly just screening for the basics. Secondly an interview with two managers talking about the opening, the team, the company, etc. All quite informal without any tricky questions. Finally there was a take-home case that was reviewed in an interview with two developers. This has the most demanding part of the process.
- What motivates you to apply for this position?
Software Engineer
There are 5 stages. First, a call with the Senior Talent Acquisition Partner. Then, a chat with the Software Engineering Manager where you talk more about yourself and get a homework assignment to complete within 7 days. After submitting the homework, you have an interview with two Tech Leads who will ask questions about it. One of the tech leads had some English issues, making it hard to understand. I did the homework exactly as described, but I didn't pass this stage, maybe they wanted more or were looking for generalists.
- What motivates you to join Mendix?
- What is your reason for leaving your current position?
Software Developer
We talked about general fit and knowledge. Then there was a technical coding assignment to do in a set amount of time. Finally, we discussed the technical task and the reasoning behind the approach and solutions. The process was conducted well.
