It was a really quick interview and seemed pretty biased, focusing more on personality than actual skills. I talked to the regional manager and a senior store manager. They asked a couple of resume-based questions, but mostly it felt like they were just gauging my personality.

The process was terrible. The recruiter set it up and discussed the base salary, as did the hiring manager. The recruiter seemed sure about the base pay, but they should have been clearer. I met with the hiring manager twice, and I was very clear about my salary requirements. I told them three times and they still asked for a pay stub from my former employer. When I met with the hiring manager, they offered me an hourly salary plus commission which was half of what I was told the base would be. I don't understand why an HR person wasn't involved. It felt like a bait and switch, and they shouldn't do that.

They told me to know my strengths and weaknesses. My Senior Store Manager, District and Regional Managers gave me two pieces of advice: keep your staff happy and make sure you hit your targets. Then you will be successful.
