So I got this call from HR like 3 months after I sent in my resume. They asked me some basic questions about my school stuff and what I want to do career-wise, and why I wanted to work there. Then, they had me come in for an in-person interview at the HR office. It was more simple questions about college and my career plans. The HR person mentioned they'd check if any research managers were looking for someone with my interests. It was pretty straightforward, but kind of vague since I didn't even talk to anyone I'd actually be working with.

I had a phone call with HR first, and then they set up an actual interview for the job. When I got there, I first met with HR for a 1:1 interview, which was pretty quick and had simple questions. After that, I met the head of the department I'd be working in for a more challenging interview (details below). Later that night, they emailed me asking for my references.
