Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Melio.
Customer Experience Associate
I had one phone interview, then two zoom interviews where we discussed the role and my qualifications. After that, there was a reference check. The whole thing took about a month. Then I was ghosted, and later they told me they chose someone else and asked if I wanted to talk about why. Honestly, it felt really superficial and like a waste of my time. The company is about to be acquired by Xero, and they even mentioned that this job might not be guaranteed long-term, like after 18 months. They also said the teams are worried about layoffs because of the current market. I hope whoever gets the job works out well.
- Why are you a suitable candidate for this position?
Customer Experience Associate
The hiring process was super easy and fast. A recruiter messaged me like three days after I applied, and we set up a 30-minute chat. Pretty quickly, I got moved to the next stage, which was a 45-minute to an hour meeting with two senior folks from the team. After that, I chatted with the supervisor/hiring manager for the role. They also did a reference check with someone I know. I got an offer in less than a week. Everything was really well-organized and speedy. They kept me in the loop and were always professional and attentive. It was honestly one of the quickest and most direct hiring experiences I've had, and I really liked that they were mindful of my time.
- Can you describe how you manage challenging situations?
Customer Experience Associate
The interview was a bit awkward. The recruiter hadn't even looked at my resume before talking to me and asked weird questions. Based on what I saw in employee reviews, the company seems a bit shady and probably not a great place to work. The job description said 0-2 years of experience were needed, but that didn't really seem right given how the interview went.
- Can you tell me where you are in your current interview process?
