First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Medtronic.
Manufacturing Engineer
The interview process was straight forward, starting with a phone screen by the hiring manager. This was followed by an onsite interview with the team and then the broader team. They asked about your depth of knowledge on the skills and experience listed on the resume. They were more interested in your soft skills and fit in the organization. Time management, independent work, and collaboration goals were key. There was no required PowerPoint presentation to a panel.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
Process Engineer
it started with a quick 20-minute call with the hiring manager, then i had a panel interview with some engineers and managers. they set it up for two days out. we broke into smaller groups and they each took turns asking questions.
- Could you tell me more about what motivates you?
Manufacturing Engineer
HR reached out initially and was upfront about the pay band and benefits. After scheduling, I had two interviews that same week, back-to-back. The first was with a panel of higher-ups and the direct manager. The second was with the team I'd be working with and others closely involved with the role. Both interviews used the STAR method. I was told I'd hear back within a couple of weeks as they wanted to fill it fast. I sent thank you emails and got a confirmation, but then heard nothing for about a month, so I checked the job posting.
- Can you tell me about a time you collaborated with others to reach a goal?
- What was the biggest challenge you faced in getting along with colleagues or teammates, and how did you overcome it?
- Provide an instance where you worked to build trust with others.
