Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Medtronic.
Regulatory Affairs Specialist
The interview process started with a call to talent acquisition, and then a week later I had a meeting with the hiring managers. After that, it was another week until an offer was extended. I was surprised they asked me about my salary expectations in the first interview, but I guess that's one way to filter candidates.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience?
- Could you describe a time you dealt with a difficult situation at work?
Regulatory Affairs Specialist
This role involves directing and performing the coordination and preparation of document packages for EU MDR regulatory submissions across the company. You'll lead or compile all necessary submission materials. A key part of the job is recommending changes to labeling, manufacturing, marketing, and clinical protocols to ensure regulatory compliance. You will also monitor and improve tracking and control systems, and keep up-to-date with regulatory procedures and changes. There may be direct interaction with regulatory agencies on specific matters, and you'll recommend strategies for the earliest possible approvals of clinical trials applications.
- Tell me about your greatest weakness and strongest point.
- What are your thoughts on your weaknesses and strengths?
Regulatory Affairs Specialist
I got an email for a telephonic interview the day after the email. I accepted and interviewed with the Director. Two weeks later, the recruiter called to say I was selected for an on-site interview and asked about my eligibility. They mentioned they'd schedule it, but the next day I received an email saying they'd moved on with other candidates. It's unclear why I was rejected before scheduling the on-site.
- Were there very difficult and detailed questions about your experience?
