Office Coordinator
The process was really unprofessional. A recruiter reached out and we had a phone conversation. She said she'd call me back, but then I never heard from them again. I even followed up, and she just ghosted me. At least they could have told me I didn't get the job. So many companies are unprofessional these days.
- Could you give me an overview of your resume?
- Did you have experience with the responsibilities that were listed?
Office Coordinator
I got contacted by the corporate recruiter right after I applied. A few days later, I met with an account executive at a coffee shop. We talked for about an hour. The interviewer asked me some weird questions, and I felt really uncomfortable. He mentioned that everyone in the office is young, just out of college, and asked about my experience working with younger age groups. He even said they all go out for drinks after work, which he brought up DURING the interview! It felt like he wasn't assessing my qualifications but looking for a new friend. It was wild. Overall, the experience was pretty awkward.
- What draws you to a support position?
- Can you describe your experience with multitasking?
- What age demographics do you typically work with?
Office Coordinator
I applied online and heard back from the Senior Corporate Recruiter the next day. We had a short call where she told me about the company and the role, then we scheduled a longer phone interview for the next day. That interview had standard questions about my experience. She also mentioned the company was moving to Chicago next year. We then set up an in-person interview for the following week. After thinking about the move, I initially emailed Carrie to say the location wouldn't work for me, but after talking to some people, I realized I wanted to give it a shot. I called her Monday morning to explain and see if I could still interview, and she was very understanding and said yes. I moved my interview from Thursday to Tuesday. The in-person part involved an office tour with a recruiter, followed by three separate interviews with an account manager, a division leader, and the director. The interviews went well, and I got the offer two days later. The office has a young, fun, fast-paced culture. Everyone is welcoming and helpful. The dress code is business casual, no casual Fridays.
- Can you give an example of when you showed a desire to serve others?
- Can you give an example of when you were willing to do things others wouldn't?
- Tell me about a time you demonstrated persistence and refused to give up.
