Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mediaocean.
QA Engineer
I went for the interview as a walk-in. There was one written exam, followed by three face-to-face interviews and a final discussion with the HR director. The written exam was easy, and the face-to-face interviews were also straightforward, focusing on fundamental concepts like debugging issues and general testing approaches. I had inquired beforehand if salary would be a barrier, and they assured me it wouldn't be. The HR discussion felt pointless; the director asked what I considered silly questions and inquired about my current salary but didn't ask about my expectations. I was ultimately rejected, with the stated reason being a lack of career consistency. However, I later learned the real reason was budget constraints, as they offered my friend a similar salary to his current one, which was quite disappointing. If a company cannot afford a candidate, they should communicate that upfront instead of wasting everyone's time. My advice to anyone earning a competitive market salary is to probably avoid Mediaocean. This review is not about the work culture or the staff but a suggestion to the hiring management.

Senior QA Engineer
The interview process was very straightforward. The first round was a technical test. The second round was either face-to-face or telephonic. The third round was an HR round, after which HR released the offer. Salary negotiations occurred. I had a good time going through all the processes. HR and admin staff were supportive, and the interviewers were very good.
- Can you tell me about all the technical testing concepts you know?
- What are your thoughts on manual testing concepts?
- What about automation testing concepts?
QA Manager
The interview process might involve a panel from different departments, and HR does a thorough screening first. An executive usually conducts the final interview. Sometimes there's a test, depending on the role. All programming roles will have a technology-specific test. QA Analysts may also have a test to assess their ability to analyze requirements and write test cases.
- Could you share your past experiences?
- Can you describe your prior experience?
- Tell me about your background.
