First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MediaMarkt.
Sales Assistant
When I arrived for my interview at MediaMarkt, the store manager met me and took me to a small office. The department manager was also there, and they were both friendly and pretty relaxed. I was asked to introduce myself briefly – who I am, what I've done so far, and why I'm interested in MediaMarkt. Then, they asked specific questions about typical sales situations: how I talk to customers, how I handle complaints, and my comfort level with technical products. The questions were clearly structured to see if I'd fit the team and if I have the right customer service skills. They also explained how the department is organized and what's most important in daily work. The atmosphere was pleasant, open, and pressure-free – more of a conversation than a strict interview. After covering the main points, we briefly discussed the terms like working hours and responsibilities. The interview then concluded, and they mentioned they would be in touch soon.
- The most important question was about how you deal with customers, especially in tough situations. Specifically, they wanted to know: "How do you respond when a customer is unhappy or complains?" This question was key because it really shows how you approach sales, whether you stay calm, think about solutions, and empathize with customers – which is what they valued most in the interview.
Sales Assistant
The selection process was good. They informed me about the conditions, and it was very pleasant. I recommend the company for its conditions and good work environment, at least the one in Alicante. You also get commissions and the colleagues in the sections are very nice.
- Tell me about your experience in the store and cash handling, as well as promotions.
Sales
The whole interview lasted almost three hours. It started with a 60-minute psychometric test with other candidates. It finished with a verbal interview with the director, who interviewed me last because my test score was too high for their parameters. The interview aims to understand a candidate's sales abilities as clearly and quickly as possible, regardless of their technical skills.
- Imagine selling a computer to a client (the director) and responding to their hypothetical questions, simulating a real sales dialogue.
