First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Medallion.
Software Engineer
I really liked interviewing with Medallion, and even though I ended up taking another offer, I'm experiencing some FOMO because it seemed like it would have been fun working there. The interviews felt practical and focused on actual problems the company is trying to solve, which was interesting and refreshing. I enjoyed chatting with everyone, and a few people were particularly generous, giving their time for extra conversations even during the holidays.
- What design problems have you encountered?
- Can we have an open-ended discussion about challenges?
- Can we have an in-depth discussion about your current work?
Software Engineer
The interview process was quite fast, but the interviewers seemed very disengaged, yawning multiple times before I even introduced myself. It was clear they weren't enthusiastic about being there. They also sometimes chuckled at my responses. I also noticed a lack of diversity among the interviewers. At times, I felt I had more knowledge than them, and they seemed resistant to delve into more in-depth technical discussions.
- Can you share your experience?
Software Engineer
Applied through a recruiter. First, there was a 1-hour debugging interview. Then, a final 4.5-hour virtual onsite with a technical design round, a presentation about a major technical challenge I've faced, and a 30-minute values interview. The process was alright. The engineers seemed a bit uninterested and jaded, but they were still nice.
- Can you describe a situation where you had a disagreement with a colleague?
