I got a call about an interview. The interviewer, Diane, asked if I had other interviews going on, and I mentioned I needed to decide about my current job by the middle of the next week. To help me out, she set up 7 interviews in 5 days, which felt a bit unusual but she accommodated me so I could meet everyone I needed to. I talked to people from the departments I'd be working closely with, and they all seemed nice and asked good questions. Diane checked in with me every morning to see how things were going and if I had everything I needed to be ready. They had originally considered me for a different role that got eliminated, but they still wanted me on the team and offered me a different position, which I happily took.

The interview process was alright. It began with a screening call from the recruiter, which I wasn't aware was only 15 minutes long. After that, I had a second interview with the hiring manager, a 30-minute video call that felt rushed. He indicated he'd recommend me for hire. A few days later, I got a verbal job offer. Despite some technical issues with the recruiter, the written offer eventually came through, and I accepted it, completing all the required paperwork. I received my computer and worked with IT and onboarding to get everything set up. However, the Friday before my Monday start date, I still didn't have a clear onboarding schedule. Late Friday night, I received an email withdrawing the job offer with no explanation, stating that HR would follow up in February about the position reopening. I then received more emails about returning the computer and enrolling in benefits. I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed with the company.

So this was honestly one of the worst interview experiences I've ever had. It took like 4 weeks total, and there was a screening, then 4 separate interviews, and then a final panel interview with 4 people. The people interviewing weren't the issue, it just took forever. The panel interview had a presentation part which was pretty normal. I got really good feedback from the interviewers and the recruiter throughout. But then I didn't get an offer. What really got me was that the rejection was just a generic email with no explanation. After putting in so much time and getting such positive vibes, I really expected a call with some actual feedback.

The interview process was pretty standard for a product design role. It started with a recruiter phone screen, followed by a portfolio presentation and a digital whiteboard exercise with the Design Manager. Then, there were three onsite interviews: one focused on product and engineering collaboration with a PM and engineer, another was a portfolio presentation with the Design Manager and Head of Product, and the last was a values assessment with the Engineering Director. They were good about quick responses and the recruiter stayed in touch. I also got to meet additional people for different perspectives, which they readily arranged.
