I didn't have a good experience with Medallia recruiting. I waited weeks for updates twice. The first time, the recruiter contacted me to set up a meeting with the recruiting manager. I heard nothing for weeks even after I reached out. Then, they got back to me to see if I was still interested. I then had three one-on-one interviews and a panel interview. I prepared a lot for each stage. After the panel interview, I emailed the recruitment team for an update but got no response, so I don't know where my application stands. It felt disrespectful and unprofessional. The lack of communication and feedback left me with a bad impression of Medallia's hiring process. Companies should give candidates timely feedback, especially when they've put in a lot of time and effort. I hope Medallia improves its process for future candidates.

I applied online and then had a phone interview. The interviewer seemed uninterested from the start. He made comments about my previous sales roles and the tech I sold, implying they weren't as impressive as Medallia's. He was arrogant and condescending. When I pointed out his behavior and ended the call, he apologized, claiming he'd just had lunch and needed coffee. People like that shouldn't be interviewing. Medallia should reconsider this interviewer. Honestly, I'm glad it ended this way, saving me future trouble.

Behavioral Case Presentation

The process involved two initial calls with the talent acquisition team who found me on LinkedIn. Following that, I had one meeting with a Regional Sales Director, then a role-play exercise (which they call a challenge at Medallia). After the challenge, there was another meeting with a second Regional Sales Director, and finally, a meeting with the VP of Sales. This last meeting was where my candidacy was terminated. There were also some cultural discussions. Overall, it was a positive and challenging experience, as anticipated. My feedback would be to let candidates finish answering before forming negative judgments.

Regarding the role-play, what's important to highlight is the qualification, the value proposition, and clearly defining the 'next step' that everything should lead to. A typical question in the role-play is: What distinguishes Medallia's solution, given that we are already working with provider X or conducting market research?
