First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Medallia.
Principal Consultant
This interview process had a few parts. First, there were 2 structured interviews, one focusing on analytics and the other on consulting. After that, I had to complete 2 assessment projects. I was given about a week to prepare these projects, and then I presented them to different team members over Zoom.
- For the analytical scenarios presented, what statistical approach would you take to find the answers?
Solution Consultant
It was a really thorough process with 5 interview rounds. The first three were great, not your usual hypothetical behavioural questions, but more about understanding me as a person, my past decisions and future goals. I only got through to round 4 and wasn't selected, even though my presentation went well. About a week later, I was told the feedback was that I arrived at my plan a bit late in the presentation. Overall, I liked the experience but wished for more concrete reasons for the decision. Since day one, my resume clearly stated I wasn't from a sales background, though I had done some pre-sales work. So, a decision based solely on the presentation made me want to understand more, especially as I was really keen on the role and felt good about it after the interview, even hoping to reach round 5.
- Can you detail your experience?
- In your opinion, how should a CX program be designed?
- What aspects of this field do you find most enjoyable?
Solutions Consultant
We started with a couple of phone calls. Then, there was a 1-1 with the hiring manager, followed by a case study presentation to three people, and a 1-1 with a Sales Rep. The next step involved a 1-1 with the regional head. Finally, there was a cultural fit interview with HQ. They really focus on the 'why' behind your decisions, your ambitions, and your life plans. They can tell if you're faking it, so being honest and admitting past mistakes is super important. The whole thing was quick, clear, and they kept giving good feedback.
- Can you walk me through your entire professional career history and explain the reasoning behind every decision you've made, no matter how small?
- Regarding your career path, could you detail the 'why' behind each decision you made?
- Could you provide a deeper dive into your skills?
