I had a 30-minute introductory call with the founder. While they mentioned the entire interview process typically spans about 6 weeks, I didn't proceed to a second interview after this initial chat. It was a pretty standard experience.

I was contacted by an internal recruiter on LinkedIn and had a phone call. Then, I was invited for an in-person interview with the Co-founder. I thought it would be a one-on-one with the co-founder, but two other people from the tech team joined, which caught me off guard and messed up my schedule. I expected about an hour, but it lasted almost two hours. After the founder spoke, she mentioned she'd 'see if anyone else has time to speak with you,' which felt odd, like no one was ready for interviews that day, and they all asked me the same question. I also noticed some concerning things about the product org, like how the team felt they had to follow the founder's product ideas without question, even if she had information they didn't. This seemed like a dictatorship and not a healthy, data-driven way to work, implying the product team isn't empowered. My third interviewer was rude, interrupting the second interview by banging on the glass door to signal we were over time. They also refused my resume, clearly hadn't reviewed it, and seemed disengaged, looking at their phone or out the window while I was talking. I was told they were going in a different direction, but it was obvious this wouldn't be a good fit.

Behavioral Case Presentation

The interview process was pretty straight forward. I had a virtual screening then went to their office in person for an in person interview and had to respond to a business use case prompt in front of the head of product. The overall process was quick and seamless. They were very good at scheduling as well as friendly and open in person. The only thing I wish would happen differently was a formal notice that they would be moving in a different direction, otherwise I had a positive experience.
