- Questions on some key concepts
Leasing Consultant
I spoke with a really nice recruiter. I was upfront and let her know my Spanish skills were from four years of high school, enough to get by but not fluent. She mentioned they were also hiring general leasing consultants in the area, but ultimately I didn't get the job, which I guess makes sense. Everything else seemed to go fine, or so I thought, but yeah, I didn't get it.
- She asked me if I could pass a drug screen and a background check, which I had already stated I could do on the application.

Intern
I applied via email and the interview was scheduled via email. I went onsite for the interview. The hiring manager didn't ask any behavioral questions. She asked about my current role and how I manage to stay organized. All my answers were met with "very good" but I was ultimately declined. When I asked about the role's required qualities, she gave vague answers like "organized" and "dependable", making me question her understanding of the role's needs. Having to pay for parking felt unprofessional and reflected poorly on the company culture. Despite her pleasant demeanor, I wouldn't want to work with her.
- How do you keep yourself organized?
- Can you describe your current position?
- What qualities are needed for this role?
Property Manager
I heard from two co-workers that McKinley, Inc. had a bad interview process, but I wanted to see for myself. The recruiter did a short phone interview with all of us, and then we all got declined right after. I have 5 years of experience in property management and only looking for a new job because my current company was sold. I feel like McKinley is exclusive and you have to know someone to get in. The questions they asked were outdated and I was not impressed.
- Can you share an instance where you provided outstanding customer service?
