First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at McKenney's, Inc..
Mechanical Engineer Intern
the interview process was pretty standard for the first stage. it involved behavioral questions and some questions about projects relevant to the job, but nothing too technical. one question i wasn't ready for was about why HVAC specifically, since it's not my area of personal interest. i didn't answer that one very well, which i think is why the application didn't move forward.
- Regarding the HVAC industry, what makes it stand out to you compared to other sectors?
Mechanical Engineer
I had to do recorded video answers for some basic stuff, like where I imagine myself in five years. Then, I had two live interviews with company folks I met at a career fair.
- What motivated you to enter this field?
- What inspired your entry into this industry?
Mechanical Engineer
It was a super chill interview. They showed me around the place and I chatted with the lead engineer. We spoke for about 45 minutes total. Definitely one of the more pleasant interviews I've had, not nerve-wracking at all.
- Could you describe your experience with plumbing?
