First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MCI.
Sales Representative
It was a quick process, just one 30-minute call with Erin. I got an offer about a week later, and they sent several emails detailing the offer and benefits.
- Can you share your previous experience?
- Describe how you'd handle different customer situations.
- What qualities do you possess that make you a good fit for this role?
Assistant General Manager
There were about three to four rounds in total, with different people from the company. These people would be from various business units. If it's a technical role, there's also a technical interview.
- Can you share details about your past work experience?
- In what ways does your previous experience align with the needs of our company?
Recruiter
I applied through a job board and got a call almost immediately from one of their assistant recruiters, after setting up an interview, I received a call for another assistant recruiter for the same purpose. After the first interview, they send you straight over for a drug test, it then took two weeks to hear back from them for a second interview. After a third interview, they told me they would call me by the end of the week to start the following Monday. I tried to contact them after two days, and never received a call back. You speak with three different individuals and get all the same questions.
- Could you share the biggest mistake you've made in your life?
Customer Service Representative
I showed them my ID and then I had to fill out some questions on the computer. There were a bunch of tests. You should be ready for an aptitude test that includes grammar and math. Many of the math questions were about percentages, so I'd suggest reviewing that beforehand. I didn't use scratch paper because I wasn't sure if we could, but I'd recommend bringing some or asking for it since there's a time limit. After that, there's a typing test, some easy simulated computer tests, and finally a personality test.
- If you had to choose, would you rather be a tiny elephant or a huge rodent?
- Tell me about a time you tried to achieve a goal but didn't succeed.
