It was a long and thorough interview process. I interviewed with multiple employees. It wasn’t daunting by any means but they want to ensure you are the right fit for the company. They treated our interview group extremely well.

The whole process was really detailed, and they took their time to make sure it was a good fit for everyone involved. Be ready for several interviews with different people from various parts of the business. If you get far enough, get ready for a 2-hour online test that checks your personality and basic math skills. The process did get a bit drawn out and complicated. I started in late August and accepted my offer, starting work in late October. But, after the long process, that offer call felt even better.

It started off with a great phone interview, which then led to an in-person interview. They had two assessment tests at the office, which honestly had nothing to do with engineering. The interviewer was late, so I ended up speaking with two other directors until he arrived. We discussed my experiences in construction and project management in-depth. They seemed really enthusiastic and asked me a lot about when I could start, and the VP even mentioned they should consider me for APM instead of PE. A week went by and nothing, so I called HR and he said the directors couldn't make up their mind. Then a month went by and again, no communication. I called HR again and he said it might be another 1-2 months before they can decide. It felt like a complete waste of my time and VERY unprofessional business conduct, in my opinion. McCarthy should really not waste people's time if they're not ready to make decisions. I ended up taking a great offer with another firm.
