Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at McAngus, Goudelock & Courie.
Legal Assistant
I had an initial phone call about the job, and they mentioned I'd need to do a questionnaire to check if I was a fit. If the results were good, they'd schedule an interview. The next day, I got a call to set up a Zoom interview. I had one interview, and the day after that, they called with a job offer.
- What were your daily tasks at your current firm?
Litigation Assistant
The interview was pretty easy, with two rounds total. First, you'll chat with the office manager, and then in the second round, you'll meet with the attorneys. There's an assessment test you need to complete, but be careful not to do *too* well on it, or they might think you're overqualified.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
Litigation Paralegal
Recruiter got my resume. First interview was great. A week later, I went back at 9am to meet the team leaders, and that also went really well. They said I'd hear back within 3 days and that I was a perfect fit. A week after that, the recruiter called to say they'd decided I was too experienced.
