First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at McAdam.
Financial Advisor
The interview process was very straightforward, without many questions. I declined the offer because they don't cover licensing costs and offer no benefits. The company culture didn't seem great; most people I met seemed unhappy. They responded to my application quickly, indicating they're desperate for employees, which I wasn't going to fall for. It felt like a pyramid scheme. I recommend finding a job with a base salary, good benefits, and a positive work culture.
- How do you feel about a career in financial advising?
- What clients can you bring in?
- What prior sales experience do you have?
Financial Advisor
It was a multi-step interview process. The first call was pretty casual, just to get to know each other. Then, in the second round, the interviewer asked a lot of questions about the job itself and why I thought I'd be a good fit. The final interview was with an executive, and I had to bring in a marketing plan showing how I'd bring in clients if hired.
- What makes you confident you'd succeed in this position?
- What's your plan for attracting and retaining clients?
- How would you market yourself and the company to potential clients?
Financial Advisor
First, I had a brief phone conversation with one of the managers. They asked some basic stuff like why I wanted to be a financial advisor and what would make me a good one. It felt more like a chat than a formal interview, which was pleasant. After that, the manager mentioned they'd want me to come in for a second interview, which was conducted over Zoom. This second meeting was a bit more detailed, covering topics like commission and family support, and reiterating the question about why I want to be a financial advisor.
- What is your motivation for becoming a financial advisor?
- Why do you want to be a financial advisor?
- What would make you a good advisor?
