Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MBDA.
Senior Software Engineer
One 1.5-hour online interview was conducted. It heavily emphasized the company's five core values, with minimal technical discussion apart from questions about your past experience. The conversation was quite informal. For more senior technical positions, a deeper technical discussion might be expected.
- Can you share an instance where you demonstrated alignment with MBDA's values?
Software Engineer
After initial introductory calls with HR, I had a technical interview at the La Spezia office. They asked me questions that I could answer, which were very relevant to my education and background. At the end of the interview, I was told I would receive feedback whether it was positive or negative, but it's been almost 5 months and they haven't contacted me again. Personally, I found this behavior disrespectful, especially since I voluntarily decided to travel to La Spezia (I live in Genoa) for the in-person interview, something they said they appreciated.
- What is the difference between Python and C++?
Software Engineer
It was two calls, one on the phone and the other a video call. The first was with the team lead to talk about the job, then with the interviewers, two of them from the same team. The technical part started nicely, trying to make it a relaxed conversation. Everything was very professional and done well.
- Regarding your career experience, what key areas do you think align with the job description?
- What sparked your interest in this particular role?
- Could you provide a description of the role?
