Project Manager
We had different stages, and they gave us feedback after the assessment centre. It started with some online tests. The assessment day itself was online too, and it was a good chance to find out more about the company. We did a group activity, more online assessments, and then an interview that seemed to follow a set script. We also got to ask questions and chat with people who are currently graduates there.
- Can you share general information about yourself?
- What are your key strengths and areas for development?
- What motivates your interest in this project management position?
Project Manager
The interview process began with a recruiter call. I was a bit put off that a big company wouldn't help with travel costs for the two required interviews, which can add up with flights, hotels, and car rentals. Despite that, the interview process itself was organized and structured, although I was kept waiting a bit initially. I see interviews as a two-way street where I present myself and learn about the company. The first interview lasted about 2.5 hours and was more of a chat than a Q&A. I felt I could guide the conversation and learn about the three interviewers. The second interview was with the technical leads of the project I'd be working on. They talked about their project and team, and we had a good discussion about which project might be the best fit. They then decided where I would best fit in. I got feedback quickly, but then there was the long wait for security clearance.

Project Manager
The interview process was a long and structured onsite. They went into detail on many areas, both technical and behavioral. Unfortunately, the feedback I received after two weeks wasn't very solid. I was told I might be better suited for another, larger role (which doesn't seem to exist), but wasn't given a clear reason why I wasn't a good fit for the role I interviewed for. They also mentioned needing security clearance, which would take a 3-month waiting period. I was aware of this and had agreed to it earlier, but it was brought up as an issue when it came to making an offer. Contradictorily, I was immediately 'encouraged' to apply for other positions! Wouldn't they also require a clearance? I'm okay with being rejected, but I would have appreciated honest feedback on why. Candidates answer all your questions from the application phase and again during the lengthy interview, proving to your teams why they are worthy of the position. They deserve a few minutes of honest reflection on why they aren't chosen, is all I would say.
- Tell me about your past experiences.
- What would you do in certain situations?
