The interview process spanned about 2 to 3 months. It started with an application, followed by a game test. Next was a pre-recorded interview with scenario-based questions. Then, an online assessment center involved a group discussion on improving a current company policy. Finally, there was a 1-on-1 interview with generic questions and some verbal technical questions.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Would you prefer to work in a team or alone?
  • Some technical questions that only require verbal answers.

Here's how the hiring process went: Started with an application. Then I had some remote HR interviews via Teams about a month later, which went really well. After that, there was an in-person technical interview about 2-3 weeks later, also very good. My profile was validated a week after that. Then, I had an interview with the MBDA France design technical director remotely using the MBDA platform, which happened a week later and was complicated. Finally, I got a rejection a week after that. Since I wasn't in France during this whole process, I couldn't do most interviews in person. The Teams calls went fine. The main issue was MBDA's internal video platform, which apparently doesn't work well for connections outside of France. I realized there was a problem just a few minutes before the call, so it ended up being on a different app.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Could you explain how to size a threaded connection?
  • Analyze the kinematics of a system and identify the internal connections.
  • Quickly size the cross-section of a fuse under preload constraints.

I filled out an online form, then did a numeracy and verbal test online, followed by an assessment day. It was my first assessment day and it was surprisingly painless. We started with a group exercise, which was very standard, discussing several investment opportunities. Then we split off individually with two interviewers and had to give a presentation on missiles, which we had several days to research and prepare, and that was fine. The two-on-one interview lasted an hour and was really an open opportunity to talk about my CV with a couple of common-sense technical questions. The interviewers were pleasant and made the day feel quite relaxed. All in all an almost enjoyable day!
