First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MBDA.
Intern
Simple recruitment process: HR interview, then manager with a colleague. Classic interview, about your background, the position, and the company. Given MBDA's sector of activity, there will be questions about the specificities of the defense sector.
- Given that you will be working for a defense company, how do you feel about this industry?
Intern
First an interview with a recruitment agency, and if selected, then another interview with the assigned mentor for the internship. Questions about motivations and background from the HR person, and then more technical questions from the mentors.
- Are you okay with working in a defense sector company?
Placement
First, I had to complete some online assessments. After that, I was invited to an assessment day in Bristol. The day involved a group task where we had to work together to solve a problem. Then, I gave a short 10-minute presentation to some senior people in the department. Finally, there was a 2-on-1 interview where they asked competency questions and some technical questions to check if I knew the basics. The competency part was pretty standard, asking for examples to back up my skills. They said the technical questions weren't too difficult, just wanting to see if I understood the fundamentals.
- Can you share an instance of your biggest failure?
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult person and whether it bothered you.
