It took a few months to get the job, especially for foreigners. There were 2 rounds of interviews. The first round was with the hiring manager, and the second was with HR. The whole process took about a few months for foreigners.

- What about your weaknesses?
- What is your notice period?

I sent in my application online through LinkedIn and then went through 2 rounds of interviews. The first one was with the HR and the branch manager, and it was pretty good, I enjoyed it. The second interview was with the same HR person and 3 branch employees, and it was just okay. The employees asked the same questions over and over, and one of them asked about my plans for marriage in the next year or two. The job ad said entry-level, but they were looking for someone with an insurance license, sales experience, and who was willing to work weekends and evenings.
- Could you tell us about yourself, your family, and your education?
- What attracts you to Maybank?
- What would you say are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?

The interview process was lengthy because MCO made it hard to confirm interviews and decisions. I got shortlisted and was offered the job, but I still had to wait for approval from HQ and directors. I had four interviews for the same position: a get-to-know-you session with the Branch HR, Regional HR, branch managers, and the Regional PFA. It's important to be professional and confident in explaining why you applied for the role, and to use formal language when answering their questions.
- What motivated your choice to join Maybank?
- What prompted your career change into banking?
- Could you explain your understanding of financial management?
