Project Manager
The interview process took over a month to complete. I filled out the application online, and about three weeks later, I was contacted by someone from Human Resources. We discussed the position and some of the high-level details. Then another two weeks passed before they reached out again to set up the first interview. The second interview was with three of directors from different programs that I would be working with, and the final interview was with the managing director of the Federal education program.
- Can you provide examples of how you would manage a stressful situation involving a coworker?
- Describe how you would address a scenario where a project team member is not completing their assigned tasks.
- What are your strengths?
Project Manager
After submitting my resume, I was invited to an interview for a contract role on a team. The interview was with the contract manager and some of the leads from the contract team, which also included the person in charge of administrative onboarding.
- Given your prior experience with the client, can you elaborate on what leads to a successful engagement with them?
- Could you describe the client's preferred engagement styles based on your previous work with them?
Project Manager
I applied on LinkedIn and got emails and messages asking for my availability to chat with HR. The first chat was a standard phone screen where they explained the process and timeline. Then I had a video interview with the hiring manager and their manager. It went well, and they set me up for the final round, which was a case study. Unfortunately, the recruiter didn't send the case study details as a meeting invite, leading to a time zone mix-up. It was supposed to be 2 PM ET, but I thought it was CT. They called me because I missed the virtual meeting, and I explained the time zone confusion and that I was just getting home with groceries I couldn't leave in the Texas heat. The HR rep said they'd contact me after speaking with the hiring manager. They decided not to proceed with my application and wouldn't reschedule. It was really annoying after putting in so much time. But honestly, looking back, I wouldn't want to work for such rigid people anyway! It should be standard practice to send interview details in meeting invites!
- How comfortable are you with creating process documents?
