First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Maxim Integrated.
Intern
It was 3 rounds of phone interviews. Since I live on the East Coast, flying out to Oregon wasn't practical. The first interview was with a director. The second interview was with a manager, who would likely be my direct supervisor. The third interview was with a technical VP. The interviews mostly focused on resume questions, not very technical ones, so make sure to prepare for that. They also ask team-based behavioral questions.
- Could you elaborate on a specific item listed on your resume?
- Describe a situation where you faced a challenge within a team environment.
Intern
So, it started with me introducing myself and then they asked me some usual behavioral questions. After that, we went over some basic Verilog stuff that you can find anywhere, and also some questions about C++ objects. It was a phone screening, and it felt easy, but unfortunately, I didn't make it through.
- Could you explain basic Verilog concepts?
- What's the difference between non-blocking and blocking assignments?
- Can you discuss questions related to C++ objects?
Intern
It was a phone interview followed by a face-to-face one. They asked me questions about everything on my resume, but the position was SQL-related, so the questions were about XML, SQL, C, C++, Networks, and OS.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
