First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Maxim Healthcare.
Recruiter
The interviewer mentioned that she was surprised I had heard good things about the company, given the bad reviews. I went through a phone screening, an in-person interview, and then came back for a shadow. I was told no background check was needed and it was entry-level, but they ended up selecting someone with more experience. While I understand companies must do what's best for them, going through that many interview rounds for what was emphasized as entry-level wasn't a good use of anyone's time.
- What makes you want this job?
Recruiter
I wasn't sure about the role at first, but the work environment was a dealbreaker. It felt like a call center, and I realized it wasn't for me after my initial phone interview. They offered a second in-person interview, which I attended for insight, though I had already decided against it after researching the company's lawsuits and employee reviews. The interviewer was nice but young. The office setup, with desks close together and backs to the manager's office, felt very micro-managed, and there was no privacy. Young employees, loud music, and an unprofessional vibe were present. I pretty much tuned out and didn't put effort into the interview, which the interviewer likely noticed. If you're into sales, don't mind a micro-managed, unprofessional, young environment with loud music, this could be a mid-level recruiter job for you.
- What's your approach to dealing with a difficult employee?
Recruitment Manager
They asked about my motivation, sales experience, how I build relationships, and my organizational skills. Also, how I manage daily routines and keep track of KPIs. They wanted to know if I can self-motivate and meet or exceed expectations, and how I juggle multiple tasks, as the role involves many duties beyond just recruiting.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
