It was alright, they asked me a lot about how I felt about taking care of guests and working well with others. They also asked about my previous work experience and for examples of when I dealt with rude guests and how I managed to fix it.

I sat down with the General Manager to talk about my past work and what jobs would be a good fit for me. It was a chill and easy chat. I didn't have much work experience besides coaching young soccer players and working at a gas station, so it was tough finding a job in the city. The manager saw my leadership and coaching skills and we talked about how that relates to working with others and the public. I could tell he really liked people who are team players, which was cool. After he saw I could talk well and be friendly, he offered me a job.

The interview process was simple. I got an application and filled it out at the restaurant. When I turned it in, they asked about my availability for an interview. I scheduled an interview for the next day with the general manager. The next day, we interviewed at the restaurant during a slow period. It was short, and they offered me the job at the end. I started working either that week or the next.

So the interview process was pretty standard for a manager role. They asked me the same kinds of questions they'd ask any manager, covering things like food and beverage knowledge, general customer service, and how I handle management.
