It was a nice experience overall, all the rounds finished on the same day. Started with an aptitude test that included MCQ coding questions, then an interview, and finally an HR round. AWS and cloud computing were also discussed.

Technical Coding System Design

This was the final round interview. I spent about 4-3 days preparing for it and specifically worked on a Proof of Concept (POC) using WebRTC, even though I didn't have prior knowledge. Despite my efforts, the feedback I received was disappointing. The interviewer mentioned that while my UI/UX skills were adequate, they were looking for someone with strong and recent practical experience in Rx Java, database management, and file handling, who could independently manage an app module. They felt I was a bit behind in these areas, even though I confidently answered most questions with various use cases and adhered to efficient coding guidelines. I didn't answer questions outside my expertise, and the interviewer didn't probe into those areas either. The interview lasted for 1 hour and 5 minutes, with some network disturbances. I found the interview relatively easy based on my work experience, as I was confident in my answers. I question why the interviewer proceeded if my React programming experience (which I disclosed as 5 months) was insufficient, rather than ending the interview earlier. Having conducted interviews myself, I've never played with candidates' emotions or wasted their time. Furthermore, I doubted the interviewer's technical skills when they presented an inefficient programming scenario. They should be aware that candidates don't attend interviews casually. I'm completely disappointed and suggest thinking carefully about what the company is truly looking for before proceeding with an interview.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • What are Fragments and how do you handle network calls?
  • Should we use Retrofit or Volley for network calls, and how would you store data using Room DB?
  • Tell me about your experience with Rx Java, database, and file handling.
