First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mavenir.
ML Intern
The interview was a one-on-one session where we mostly talked about my resume. They really dug into my experience and what I contributed technically. We also chatted about my grasp of ML methods and they asked follow-up questions about ML use cases I know about or have done. The main thing was how ML is actually used and how I've put those ideas into practice in projects or school.
- Can you demonstrate the concept of Random Forest and show its basic implementation?
Graduate Engineer
They started with an analytical and english test. Then there was a technical round where they asked about Linux, networking, and Kubernetes. The final round was with HR, and they inquired about my preferred location.
- Can you list and explain some basic Linux commands such as df, free, and lsblk?
- What distinguishes deploying applications on hosts versus containers?
- Could you define what a pod is within Kubernetes?
Research and Development Engineer
In the technical interview, two interviewers gave me a bunch of tough questions. They checked my problem-solving by having me do coding exercises and asked about my past projects to see what I've done. They really cared about teamwork and how I communicate, wanting to know if I'd be a good fit for the team and how I'd help with future stuff.
- Can you tell me more about your resume?
- Do you have any questions about Python, specifically numpy and pandas?
- Are there any questions regarding ML?
Senior Member of Technical Staff
So, the interview was scheduled. The first round didn't go too well, and I was rejected. A bit later, the same HR called me saying my resume was shortlisted again and there would be two rounds, after which they'd decide. After the second round, she told me the rounds were positive. Then, after some time, she scheduled one more round, calling it a managerial round. In this round, the interviewer was really bad, totally unhelpful, and demotivating if you didn't answer some questions. The HR then said it wasn't positive and they weren't moving forward. I feel like if they had already decided not to hire me, the third round was a waste because the interviewer in the third round seemed uninterested during the interview.
- Questions about C programming and related domain knowledge were asked.
