I went to the MAU office as a walk-in after needing to reschedule. They make you rewrite your resume there, which was annoying. After waiting a bit, a lady interviewed me. She asked if I'd work overtime, show up on time, not miss days, and if I could take criticism from coworkers. Then I went to the BMW Testing and Development Center for a written exam. It was 100 questions, an hour limit, lots of personality, safety, and management opinion questions. I found it easy. Only I passed out of seven people. Today I went back for the Automated Production Simulator. This shows how you perform on an assembly line. First, you drill bolts into a machine with eight holes, following an order. Then, you scan inventory, look for defects, and do mounting/dismounting. You have to walk across a pathway to get supplies, and lights indicate when a "forklift" is moving; walking in the path when the light is on means you get "hit." The key is not to stress and watch the lights. Everyone in my group passed the APS, even someone who kept getting "hit." After passing, you get a conditional offer pending a drug test and physical. They said it could take one to four weeks after the physical to hear back.

Behavioral

The interview was held in a hot room with large windows. I had to fill out forms that duplicated information from my resume. The interviewer, who seemed unfriendly, asked about my previous job and why I left, which involved discussing past harassment and racial issues. She also inquired about my willingness to work weekends, swing shifts, and in non-climate-controlled environments. When I tried to ask about other roles, she seemed annoyed. I was offered a position at BMW and accepted.

First, there's an intake interview. If that goes well, you'll take a personality test. Pass that, and you'll do a simulator test. The last step is a physical exam.
