It started with a phone interview where they asked about my past work experience and how it related to the job. Then there was an in-person group interview. In this part, we did some games where we had to follow instructions, like building a bridge out of Legos that could hold weight or making a paper airplane with specific measurements and cuts. They let us know later that same day if we got the job.

It was a pretty straightforward interview, very organized. We had to fill out some forms, and then they went over the job description and dress code. They have a point system for things like safety. We also had to take a test using power tools. Then there was a drug screen and background check. They were good about answering all our questions and also told us what the job does NOT accept.

So you apply, then you wait for a phone interview. After that, they call you in to do a written test. If you pass that, you gotta give them your proof of education. Then, they book you for a physical screening. After the screening, you wait for weeks while they "wait" for your results. Once you get those back and pass, you wait a few more weeks for a confirmation letter and a call to schedule orientation. Orientation could be that week or in a few weeks, you never know. After orientation, you start work the week after.

The interview was held in a hot room with large windows. I had to fill out forms that duplicated information from my resume. The interviewer, who seemed unfriendly, asked about my previous job and why I left, which involved discussing past harassment and racial issues. She also inquired about my willingness to work weekends, swing shifts, and in non-climate-controlled environments. When I tried to ask about other roles, she seemed annoyed. I was offered a position at BMW and accepted.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • I need to know why you left your previous job.
