First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Matter Communications.
Account Executive
I had an initial screening call with HR, and then I went in for in-person interviews with the recruiter and 4 managers. The recruiter was pretty rude, which was surprising. I mentioned I'd been interested in Matter for a while, and she said, 'well yeah, that's what most people say about working here...' She was very distant and didn't seem engaged. Meeting her first made me feel uneasy for the rest of the interviews. Matter is a really sought-after PR firm, and they act like it. After meeting the team, I was way less interested. Their whole 'we're better than you' and intimidating vibe isn't something I want to be part of.
- What are some typical interview questions?
Account Executive
I sent in my application online and heard back from the recruiter at Matter within a few days via email. After that, I had three phone interviews that were each about half an hour long. Then, I had a two-hour in-person interview at their office in Boston. The whole process took a bit over a month to complete.
- How do you handle juggling and prioritizing many tasks simultaneously?
Account Executive
Had the phone screening with the recruiter. Then, I had three 30-minute interviews back to back, which was technically a 1 hour and 30-minute interview with five individuals. Some interviewers were really sweet, but some seemed like they didn't know anything about the projects they were working on. I also had to interrupt them in a rude way.
- Can you discuss your previous experience?
