Recruiter reached out for an in-person interview. The process was straightforward, and I felt at ease. Matisia appears to be an excellent company with a strong culture, undergoing rapid yet measured growth. I'd certainly see myself building a long-term connection with them.

Behavioral Other

I had a phone call with a recruiter at the start. They gave me a quick overview of the company and asked about my interest in a local consulting pure-play. We then talked for about 10 minutes about my background. After that, I had two more 'coffees' with a business development person and then one of the co-owners. These were casual conversations, seemingly more about whether I was a cultural fit.

Behavioral

The interview was mostly about personality/behavioral. Matisia only makes contingent offers, requiring you to commit to compensation upfront, and you only become an employee if and when you're staffed on a project. Until then, you're on an unpaid "virtual bench." While most interactions were pleasant and amicable, some leadership members acted a bit unprofessionally during the process, as others have mentioned on Glassdoor.
