& Process

It was a 3-round interview process. First, an OA, then a phone screen with an EDG manager, and finally a 4-hour in-depth technical and behavioral interview. The whole process went really smoothly, and everyone I talked to was super nice and helpful. The technical questions, both in the OA and the live interview, were pretty much Leetcode medium difficulty for me.

It was an on-campus opportunity. Round 1 was a Group Discussion on 'Social Media: Boon or Bane'. This round is super important because it's eliminatory, and I was the only one who passed from my room. Round 2 was a Technomanagerial round covering my projects, technical stuff, and HR questions. Round 3 focused on Technical Depth, specifically OOPS and DSA in C++, with a deep dive into how C++ works internally. Unfortunately, I didn't get selected because I messed up Round 3.

So the interview process started with a hiring manager chat about my current projects and what the job entails. Then came an offline problem-solving round where I had a day to improve the runtime of some C++ code by a huge margin, which I managed to do in 6 hours. Next was a technical screening with C++ questions, including checking for BSTs and an easy array problem. After that, there were two HR rounds, the first talking about my background and aspirations, and the second focusing on salary and benefits. Then I had to prepare and present my past work, including technical architecture, and answer questions about it. This was followed by a couple more technical rounds focusing on C++: implementing a circular queue and shuffling an array. A unique round involved using Polyspace to find issues in code. The final round was a surprise, with the hiring manager clarifying they were looking for a Senior Software Engineer (IC) and not a Team Lead as the HR invites suggested, and I had to defend my candidacy for that role.
