You need to apply online at mastercharterschools.com. After applying online and answering essay questions, if recruiting believes you have met the requirements, you will be asked to do an interview. They email you the instructions on what is needed to interview, which is a 5 min demo lesson. If you do well on the interview, you will be asked to do a demo lesson. An email will be sent as well with the instructions. When the demo lesson is complete, recruiting will at this point check your references and hopefully call you the next day with an offer for employment.

Behavioral Presentation

It was super misleading. I wouldn't recommend applying unless your current job knows you're looking elsewhere. It started with a quick 10-minute phone chat, and then about two weeks later, I got an automated email for an in-person interview. They said I'd need to do a 30-minute demo lesson, but when I got there, it was with less than 10 students, which was the first weird thing. After the demo, we talked about what went well and what could be better. They said I'd hear back in two weeks about moving forward. Then I got an email saying they were checking my references, and that's when things went downhill. Two weeks after my references were checked, and after my current employer was informed, it was just silence. There's no one to actually call, and you can only email about your application status. After a week of back-and-forth emails, I found out the recruiter I was dealing with no longer worked there, which felt really sketchy. It's been 30 days since my interview, and someone finally got back to me saying my info was sent to two schools and a decision would be made by the end of the week... I guess not. Two months later, I got a generic email saying the job went to someone else. It was confusing and misleading. I've never had an employer check references and then not offer me the job. Just keep looking, don't waste your time!

I received an email for an interview at Mastery Charter School for the Front Desk Manager position, which I accepted. On the day of the interview, I arrived 10 minutes early and checked in at the front desk. The staff were friendly and informed me that Michele would be with me shortly. After waiting for 20 minutes past my appointment time, Michele came out to greet me and we began to walk down the hallway. I assumed I would be interviewed by her, but that was not the case. I was led into a room where about 10 people were seated around a conference table with their laptops open, and they all stared at me as I entered. I was surprised and caught off guard, feeling that I should have been given a heads-up about this type of interview. It felt like they were interviewing for a Vice President role. I was very disappointed because I wasn't prepared and felt anxious. Not everyone is comfortable being interviewed by a panel, and this should be disclosed beforehand. I felt they judged my intelligence based on that interview. I wasn't even contacted afterward to inform me whether I was accepted or not. Overall, I found the entire interview process at Mastery to be unprofessional from start to finish.

I got through the initial phone interview. It was pretty standard, just asked about typical job stuff. When I tried to ask about the work culture, the interviewer seemed a bit thrown off. After I clarified I meant the office vibe, she gave a description that sounded like "intense, high expectations, going above and beyond, open-door policy, data-driven sometimes, hard work." She then added that they were the "most fun department" and acted like "family." That was enough for me.
